Hi, I'm Claire.
I launched Planet Plantastic in March 2020 in order to share my own experiences following a plant-based lifestyle. Since the day I decided to switch to plant-based living in November 2016, I've taught myself about how to lead a healthy lifestyle without harming animals.
In my case, animal welfare was the main trigger for changing to a vegan lifestyle. I had been vegetarian off and on during my teens and early 20s, so I had already planted the seed of the idea that it was wrong to kill and consume animals for food. However, the idea soon faded and I spent a good decade eating meat again.
A few years later my compassion for animals grew again and I was starting to go off meat, favouring vegetarian meals instead. Then, it hit me one evening immediately after watching Cowspiracy and that was that, I’d made up my mind for sure. I no longer wanted to be involved in the continued cruelty, exploitation and murder of innocent sentient beings.
My journey so far
I've learnt an immense amount about the animal agriculture industry, healthy plant-based eating and nutrition, as well as the environmental impact of our daily lifestyle choices. I hope that this blog becomes a useful resource as I share some of the key things I've learned or tricks I've picked up along my way. The hope is that maybe I even inspire you to make the transition to a plant-based lifestyle and you can discover for yourself just how wonderful, healthy and rewarding it can be to live cruelty-free.
I love cooking so, naturally, I've been experimenting in the kitchen since I removed meat and dairy from my diet. I'll be sharing many recipes and tips here on Planet Plantastic so you too can create healthy, nutritious and delicious home-cooked vegan cuisine.
Look out for updates about my attempts at creating natural cosmetic products including body lotions, suncream and cleaning sprays.
Knowledge is power, so I'll also be sharing information about standard practices that the animal agriculture and industrialised food industries don't want us to know about. I believe strongly that each one of us can have a huge impact on exposing the hidden truths about the wide-scale abuse to animals. By standing up and refusing to support animal slavery and murder, together we can make the world a healthier and more compassionate place.
Good luck on your own plant-based journey. I hope you enjoy reading!
